The Patriot

With a title like this, one might expect another cinematic victory in the Vietnam War or perhaps a successful annihilation of some terrorists. Instead THE PATRIOT is a confusing and altogether silly exercise in adventure redeemed only by its unintentionally funny climax. At a naval storage base somewhere in the desert, a bunch of Ninja-garbed bad guys led by Atkins (Stack Pierce) easily breach security and heist a couple of atomic bombs. In a nearby town, Matt Ryder (Gregg Henry) is a burned-out Vietnam veteran who is summoned by his old Navy superior (Leslie Nielsen) to help recover the stolen bombs.
