Mitchell is a murderous bandit holding a group of people hostage in a mountain cabin during a raging snowstorm. After a couple of hostages are killed, gambler Robertson gets his chance to muscle Mitchell to the ground and kills him. A remake of a twice-filmed story (in 1937 by Christy
Cabanne, in 1919 by John Ford), this movie differs from its predecessors by preferring action to character study. It works, however, and makes for a fine picture.
