Another one of Hugo Haas' interesting failures casts him in a true-to-life role: an emigre producer-director. In the film, he marries the daughter of a studio head and soon gets on would-be actress Moore's bad side when he doesn't give her the part she wants. She slips him a spiked drink
and arranges for a frame-up. She demands $50,000 from him or she'll produce "evidence" that he had an affair with her. He decides to kill Moore and to place the blame on Qualen, an unsuspecting bum. Ultimately, Haas ends up in jail for the crime. Haas' seventh one-man show (he served as star,
