The Oregon Trail

MacMurray is a New York reporter sent to cover the opening of the Oregon territory in 1846. He is investigating whether President James Polk is sending troops disguised as pioneers to hold the land. MacMurray is captured by Indians and escapes with the help of Indian maiden Talbott. He quits his newspaper job, helps the soldiers fight the Indians, and settles down with Talbott in the new territory. A routine western directed by Gene Fowler, Jr., who also directed I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF and I MARRIED A MONSTER FROM OUTER SPACE.
