True story of an aging diehard Democrat, Brennan, and the head of a family of staunch Republicans whom Brennan tries to bring to the 1888 Democratic convention. This tiresome feature never lives up to the expectations promised by such a fine cast. The material is even too much for a tried veteran such as Brennan, who could do little with the poor script.
