The Oklahoman

Fine low-budget western starring McCrea as a doctor on his way to California when his wife dies during childbirth in Oklahoma. Not having the heart to travel any farther, McCrea decides to stay and build a practice in the town where his wife is buried. His practice thrives in the small community, but McCrea runs afoul of evil cattle barons Dexter and Dick after he helps an Indian whose land they were about to grab. Eventually McCrea faces Dexter in a gunfight and is wounded, while Dexter is killed.
