Tedious Romberg-Hammerstein operetta starring Novarro as an archduke who dumps a princess for the love of ballet dancer Laye but eventually succumbs to the wishes of the emperor and marries the princess. The film yielded two hit songs, "The Night Is Young" and "When I Grow Too Old to Dream," but it was Novarro's last screen appearance for 14 years, and Laye returned to England for good after its release. Other songs: "My Old Mare," "The Noble Duchess," "Lift Your Glass," and "There's a Riot in Havana." leave a comment
