Fairway International, which had achieved some success churning out sex- and-violence epics for the drive-in crowd, ventured into comedy this time out with unimpressive results. Story features Terr as a Soviet agent assigned to smuggle the title creature into the US. The rabbit is contaminated with deadly germs, and Terr is to release it, allowing it to wander the country, causing a lethal epidemic. Terr heads for a Wyoming dude ranch, where he disguises himself as a cowboy and battles with the rest of the cast, all of whom play agents of various nations. The funny premise unfortunately fails badly in execution. The cinematography is notable, however, handled admirably by Zsigmond and his assistant, Laszlo Kovacs, both of whom would go on to become among the most respected cameramen in the industry. Kovacs also has a small part in the film. leave a comment
