French director Allegret made several English-language films and this may be his worst. Set in Canada, the film tells the story of Maria (Morgan), who returns to her village after five years in a convent. She falls in love with three men--Moore, Lemaire, and Watling--and the remainder of
the film depicts her problems in finding Mr. Right. Made in 1950 but not released in the US until 1955, the movie has little to recommend it. Roger Vadim, who would achieve great notoriety the following year as the director of AND GOD CREATED WOMAN, learned his trade from Allegret. He served as an
