Unlike other westerns which featured various masked riders in the role of hero, this Ritter film puts hoods on the villains. Though any western fan worth his saddle soap will know it's King beneath the hood, the villain is still marvelously evil. As expected, Ritter unmasks King in the
end. Energetic direction makes this film better than most serial westerns. Unfortunately it's marred by the overindulgence of Ritter's singing, which gets in the way of the action.
