This charming children's film was the first to star the successful television puppets (two sequels followed). The loose plot follows Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear as they travel cross-country on their way to fame and fortune in Hollywood. On the road they pick up a variety of passengers
(muppet and human) and sing a dozen songs. The special effects are handled very well; highlights feature Kermit riding a bicycle and rowing a boat. Cute without being insipid, funny without being childish, THE MUPPET MOVIE contains enough magic to please all ages.
