An enjoyable tale about a gang of British kids who make friends with a mysterious monster that has hatched from an egg brought from Malaya. Struggling to keep itself out of the clutches of a profit-minded circus manager, the monster decides the best place for him is back home in Malaya.
Bidding farewell to the helpful children, he sets off on the journey across the ocean. Well-executed combination of both live-action and animation. Director Cavalcanti is better known for the simplistic dramas he made in France during the early 1930s.
