Stamp is a 30-year-old man who has been in a coma since birth. American neurosurgeon Vaughan brings him to consciousness and Davenport begins to put the man-child through an accelerated education program. Stamp becomes a media sensation when a TV crew tapes his progress for a television special. Vaughan and Davenport clash over the educational technique. Davenport feels a program of harsh discipline would be most beneficial, while the US surgeon wants Stamp to be brought up as a baby with all the love one needs to grow. Stamp runs away and, because of his childlike manner, finds the outside world hostile. The hostility causes him to react violently and he finally kills Vaughan while the television cameras are running. This picture is similar to the 1968 film CHARLY, but without the sentimentality. leave a comment
