The Mighty

A WW I melodrama with Bancroft as a gangster who goes to war and rises to the rank of major. He returns from the battlefields of Europe to break the news to a family that their son, a young officer, had died in his arms during a battle. When Bancroft falls in love with the soldier's sister, he decides to stick around and accept a job as the town's police commissioner.
