The Marshal's Daughter

1953, Movie, NR, 71 mins

A loosely strung, episodic film features Anders (known for her television cry, "Ah luv those wide open spaces--") in the title role. Her father, Gibson, is a former marshal, and together they track down outlaw Duncan. Producer Murray plays the comic relief. This was Gibson's first film in nearly 10 years and hardly worth the effort. Every time the action gets going, things stop so Anders can sing a cowboy song, and Gibson just seems to be going through the motions. Foster, Wakely, Baer, and Brown make cameo appearances in a poker game, and famed cowboy-singer Tex Ritter sings the title tune. leave a comment
