The Mark Of Cain

Lavish costume drama has Gray loved by two brothers, Portman and Holt, with Portman exceedingly jealous of his suave brother. Holt and Gray marry, but after a couple of years their marriage is marred by Gray's inability to play the role of proper hostess. Taking Portman as her confidant, she tells him her troubles. Portman attempts to convince her to divorce his brother and run off with him. When the couple have a reconciliation, jealous Portman poisons his brother, making all the evidence point to Gray. Story drags as the direction fails to maintain adequate suspense, and is further marred by the cast overplaying their roles.
