After a series of mysterious deaths Sheafe finds himself being harassed by Wynn's goons. Sheafe conducts an investigation of his own and comes to suspect that the three men killed were all the same person. He meets Ingalls, whose father was one of the dead men. An investigation proves that Ingalls' father was indeed all three of the men killed, staging elaborate accidents to cover up the million-and-a-half dollars he stole in bonds. However, Wynn is also after the money and suspects Sheafe of being in on the scam with Ingalls' father. The mystery winds down to its eventual conclusion, but not before throwing the audience into total confusion. The cast members, giving emotionless performances, churn out their lines with little feeling. The excellent photography is the only commendable quality of this film, which gives the pretense of being a thriller, but delivers a plot in which very little happens. Two of the three top-billed players get killed early on. leave a comment
