The Man Who Was Sherlock Holmes

Albers does not play Conan Doyle's character, but a man who is mistaken for the great sleuth and decides to go along with the impersonation. His friend, Ruhmann, is assumed to be Watson, and the pair get involved in tracking down rare and counterfeit stamps during the 1936 World Exposition in Paris. While searching for the real stamps, Albers is arrested for impersonating Sherlock Holmes but always in the background is a chuckling man who looks like the real Holmes.
