The Man Who Haunted Himself

Based on an episode from TV's "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," this implausible but well-done psychological drama mixes fantasy with standard thriller techniques. After suffering a nasty car accident, business executive Harold Pelham (Moore) undergoes an operation during which his sexually vibrant alter ego escapes his body and begins living Pelham's life with heretofore unseen vigor. Returning after a long convalescence, Pelham discovers that his doppelganger is undermining business decisions he has made, having an affair with a woman he met only once, and renewing Pelham's long-dormant sex life with his wife.
