Dr. Henryk Savaard (Boris Karloff), a scientist who experiments with bringing the dead back to life through the use of an artificial heart, is hanged for the murder of one of his patients. Before long, his assistant, Lang (Byron Foulger), uses the doctor's own method to revive him, but
