The Man Of The Hour

Chevalier is cast as an electrician who wants to be a singer like Maurice Chevalier. While walking down the street, he sees actress Popesco involved in a near-fatal accident. He volunteers himself as a blood-donor and saves her life. The newspapers publicize his act of valor, and he receives a bundle of money for the rights to his story. When the electrician is invited to Popesco's chateau, his girl friend, Day, implores him not to go, but he doesn't pay attention. Eventually, he gets a chance to sing alongside the real Chevalier, thanks to some trick photography. In the finale, the electrician realizes he is out of his class and returns to Day.
