Photographer Testi sneaks onto the set of a low-budget gangster film and begins to take pictures of the female star, Schneider. He wants to take cover pictures, but she isn't very interested. They make a date anyway and start seeing each other on a regular basis. Her husband, Dutronc,
watches all this happen from the sidelines, and when Testi puts up the money for a play to star Schneider, he commits suicide, not wanting his wife to stay with him just because she pities him. Testi is beaten bloody by the thugs of the loan shark, and Schneider finds him and tells him she loves
him.
