Melsa Manton (Stanwyck) is hardly mad, in the insane sense of the word. Rather, she is a madcap heiress, given to outrageousness, who finds a corpse on a street late one night. However, the corpse vanishes before the cops arrive. Like so many Nancy Drews, Miss Manton and a crew of her
