Sam Posner (Philip Bosco), who was 10 minutes too late to catch a plane that crashed and left no survivors, is inspired to reassess his life as a result of this miraculous near-miss. Bosco is very convincing as Sam, the rich, hard-nosed garment factory owner, who, in the film's first five
minutes, is shown trying to dodge a union representative and getting nasty with his wife (Doris Belack), his mistress (Joanne Camp), a dressmaker, and his chaffeur (Arthur French). After avoiding the crash, Sam tries to figure out why he was spared. Not unlike Ebenezer Scrooge, Sam then sets out
