Hefty Hungarian soprano Alpar is a milliner courted by aristocrats. She first has an affair with Waddington, a young writer for Margetson. She then marries Margetson in order to become Nares' mistress. Not only does Alpar get to chase a number of men, she also sings a couple of tunes. A
rather stiff British production that is well done but not compelling. Alpar's first English-language film did not make her a star.
