Weissmuller plays the jungle adventurer in this film based on the cartoon strip "Jungle Jim." The former Tarzan comes to the rescue of a lost African city (the natives are white) that is under siege by a band of crooks who want to steal its treasures. Weissmuller also takes on a lion in hand-to-hand combat, wrestles a couple of sharks, and performs other impossible feats. Verdugo and Dunn are the crooks, and Dell is the woman who holds Weissmuller's attention when he's not doing battle with countless humans and animals. Kids will enjoy this pre-RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK adventure. leave a comment
