William bets Police Inspector Hall that he can stay out of trouble for 24 hours. But as usual, William finds himself caught in the middle of many implausible situations. First, there's a murder, then a robbery of treasury engraving plates from a newly invented car, plus car chases, kidnapings and wild train rides.
