An atypical biker picture directed by star Kotto. Kotto plays a Los Angeles police officer who befriends a white officer and a tough black biker leader. With those usual sources of conflict taken care of, director Kotto introduces a vengeful biker who is second in command in the gang. He beats up his girlfriend and takes the biker leader's woman for a motorcycle ride that nearly kills her and her unborn child. A chase through the city streets ensues, and Kotto finally catches the thug but in the process gets his throat slit. In an unexpected ending, Kotto is taken to the hospital while his friends and wife await his recovery. While the production appears raw and Kotto's direction relatively weak, THE LIMIT must receive some credit for bending the usual conventions of the genre. leave a comment
