Bendix repeats his role from the popular radio series in this easy-to-take comedy. As a riveter in an airplane factory, he longs for a better job, and, soon after his daughter (Randall) begins dating the boss's son (Daniels), he finds himself elevated to an executive job. Only later does he find out that the promotion was arranged by his daughter, who now must marry Daniels to make good her end of the deal. Bendix is outraged and breaks up the wedding in mid-ceremony, seeing that his daughter is reunited with the man she really loves, Long. Adapted from a radio show that began in 1944. The show was later turned into two television series, the first running 26 weeks in 1949 and 1950 (starring Jackie Gleason), the second running five years from 1953 through 1958, with Bendix repeating his role. leave a comment
