This film is so inept it's almost camp. Klinton Spilsbury (with dialog dubbed by James Keach) plays the title crusader, whose lone status is explained in the first 15 minutes--the most interesting part of the film. When the hero's archenemy (Christopher Lloyd) kidnaps the US president (Jason Robards), the Lone Ranger and Tonto (Michael Horse) come to the rescue, joined by General Custer, Wild Bill Hickok, and Buffalo Bill. The Ranger doesn't put on his mask until about two-thirds of the film is over, whereupon the action takes a surprisingly violent turn, considering it was aimed at a younger audience.
