The Last Shot You Hear

A mess technically, this tired picture starts out with an interesting premise but doesn't know what to do with it. Marlowe is a well-respected marriage counselor, lecturer, and writer who is shocked to learn that his wife is having an affair. In light of his standing, he refuses to grant her a divorce, angering not only his wife but her lover, who decides to murder Marlowe. A plot twist has Marlowe being shot with blanks and recording the murder attempt on tape, causing the lover's plan to backfire.
