Price plays a scientist who is the last survivor on Earth after a plague has turned the rest of the population into vampires. He manages to escape contagion due to a jungle virus he had once, which makes him immune to the disease. Price spends his time clearing the streets of dead bodies and driving stakes into the hearts of sleeping vampires. He falls for Bettoja, who belongs to a group of vampires claiming to have found a temporary antidote to the virus. He frees her from vampire-ism by giving her a transfusion of his blood. She, in turn, informs him that her fellow group members intend to kill him for destroying other vampires. Although Price is idealistic in the belief that there is hope for the future, the semivampires kill the last man on Earth anyway. Remade as THE OMEGA MAN. leave a comment
