What could have been a sensitive look at the problems of growing up, THE LAST AMERICAN VIRGIN unfortunately becomes a formula picture aimed at exploiting the teen market. The story centers around three high school friends as they discover sex and search for fulfillment. Director Boaz Davidson elicits warm performances from inexperienced actors, but his efforts are in vain because the script provides a hackneyed treatment of its delicate subject. The soundtrack features Blondie, the Cars, the Police, the Waitresses, and Devo. leave a comment
