The Last Affair

This unevenly written and directed mess revolves around the efforts of a married couple to have a baby. To add some spice to the film subject, the husband is portrayed as unable to produce viable sperm cells. Adoption is out; this leaves the woman to find another means of conception, first via the singles bar route and then with a male prostitute. Some interesting ideas--such as the machismo of the sterile husband and the bizarre men that the wife encounters--but nothing is there to hold the situations together. Choreographer Gordon, who later directed REANIMATOR (1985), winner at Cannes for Best Science Fiction Film, had a part in staging the action scenes. Writer...
