Littlefoot the Apatosaurus spots a falling meteorite and questions disbelieving tribal elders about this mythical "stone of cold fire." Abetted by Cera the Triceratops, Ducky the Saurolophus, Petrie the Pterodactyl, Spike the Stegosaurus, Littlefoot doesn't accept the patronizing dismissal of the adult dinosaurs and ponders venturing to the Smoking Mountains to verify what he's witnessed. From the sidelines, Petrie's uncle Pterano hopes to acquire the unusual rock, which allegedly possesses magical powers.
