The Lady Objects: Review

Ross plays an ex-college-football star who marries his college sweetheart, Stuart. Their relationship becomes shaky as her career as a criminal lawyer escalates, while he struggles as an unsuccessful architect. Once they are separated, Ross makes some extra money as a nightclub singer but is then wrongly accused of a murder. Stuart is called upon to bail him out in a tearful courtroom scene. The cast delivers strong performances but is unable to lift this lame story. The song "A Mist Over the Moon" by Oscar Hammerstein II and Ben Oakland earned an Oscar nomination. Other Hammerstein/Oakland tunes included "That Week in Paris," "Home in Your Arms," "When You're in the Room," "Sky High," "Naughty, Naughty," "Victory Song." leave a comment
