The Jayhawkers

Pre-Civil War Kansas is the backdrop of this tale about the top Jayhawker, Chandler, and his attempts to reign supreme over his plains empire. He is brought down, however, by Parker, who avenges the death of his family at Chandler's hands. There are a number of references comparing Chandler's character to Napoleon, a novel idea that still makes for nothing more than a lavishly-mounted, hollow spectacle.
