This efficiently written, made-for-cable film transfers detective story conventions to the novel context of postal inspection. The premise worked well enough to spawn a follow-up, THE INSPECTORS 2: SHRED OF EVIDENCE (2000).
Neophyte postal officer Alex Urbina (Jonathan Silverman) learns the ropes of federal criminal detection from mentor Frank Hughes (Louis Gossett Jr.).
