When a family goes abroad, leaving their two dogs and cat with a friend who lives 250 miles away from their house, the pets get homesick and undertake the long journey home, encountering kindness from a little girl and an old hobo, but also meeting with great danger. Returning from their foreign trip, Prof. Jim Hunter (John Drainie) and his family are heartbroken to learn that their beloved pets have disappeared, but the Disney folks were not about to let this one end unhappily. Featuring some astonishing acting from the highly trained animal stars and some beautiful shots of the Canadian high country, this simply told, episodic tale is great for kids and not too bad for big people either. leave a comment
