A likable, very loony comedy starring CIA agent Falk and dentist Arkin as future father-in-laws who wind up running around in South America for the CIA on the eve of their children's wedding. Falk drags the unsuspecting Arkin on a ridiculous trail of mayhem that leads to a banana republic
ruled by a crazed dictator (hilariously played by Libertini) who talks to his hand (and the hand talks back). The comedy is strictly from the hit-or-miss school, but director Hiller keeps things moving so fast there isn't time to ponder over the failed bits. The film grossed a small fortune,
pulling in nearly $19 million at the box office.
