Raft is a suave and wealthy nightclub owner who hires Indiana-bred Bennett to sing in his club. He is so enamored of her that he proposes and for a short time they are happy, even though both Raft's lawyer Nolan and Pidgeon, a rich airplane manufacturer, also have hot eyes for the sultry
