The Hotel Manor Inn

The revelation arrives about halfway in: It's supposed to be a black comedy! Were the film even remotely funny, this might be clear earlier. Gus Griswell (John Randolph) is the assiduous caretaker of a now-defunct insane asylum that he longs to return to its former incarnation, a luxury summer resort called the Atlantic Island Hotel. Unfortunately, two former patients are still hanging around, and one of them has been sending letters to her favorite tabloid TV show, The Smoking Gun, suggesting that the estate's owners were murdered.
