Russell is the widow of a soldier who was killed during WW II when he threw himself on a live grenade to save his five fellow soldiers. A couple of years later, Russell goes in search of the five men to see if any of them were deserving of her husband's heroics. When she is slightly injured in an accident, Russell suffers a hysterical paralysis that leaves her unable to walk. Douglas, one of the soldiers saved by her husband and suffering from a good case of the guilts himself, tries to talk Russell out of her fixation. Under his hypnosis, Russell goes on a mental journey in which she talks to all the ex-soldiers involved in her husband's death. It enables her to come to grips with his demise, and she turns around and uses the same process on Douglas to help him overcome his guilt. leave a comment
