The Green Mare

A horse dealer has unusual luck when one of his mares gives birth to a green colt. His family becomes quite wealthy as a result, and when the mare finally dies, her portrait is hung in a place of honor. Soon after, the horse dealer dies, leaving his estate to his sons, Bourvil and Blanche. Robert, a neighbor of the family who's jealous of the family's wealth, betrays Bourvil to the Prussians. To save her son, Bourvil's mother is forced to submit to a Prussian officer, not knowing her son and his friend, Bertil, are hiding beneath the bed. Bourvil keeps this a secret, plotting revenge all the while, and 15 years later decides to seduce Robert's daughter. His brother...
