This film revolves around a group of Britishers who survive a plane crash in the Himalayas only to find themselves prisoners of a tyrannical, English-hating Rajah, played by Arliss. This film, which is marred by poor sound recording, is a remake of a 1923 silent version which also
starred Arliss. It was remade again in 1943 as ADVENTURE IN IRAQ. The performance by Arliss was deemed strong enough to warrant an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, but he lost, as the winner of that award for the year was...George Arliss--for his performance in DISRAELI.
