The Great Train Robbery

1978, Movie, PG, 110 mins

Connery is Edward Pierce, a British thief who pulls off the first moving train robbery in 1855. Based on real events, this stylish period film has Pierce enlisting the help of one Clean Willy (Sleep) and master safecracker Agar (Sutherland) to pull off the crime. Miriam (Down), Pierce's mistress, sets up his escape after being caught by police. An entertaining thriller that stumbles occasionally on overlong dialogue sequences. Connery handled his own stunt work.
