This early McQueen film was based on an actual robbery attempt and filmed on location in Missouri. McQueen is the getaway driver in an intricate heist scheme planned with Clarke, Denton, and Dukas. The film's attempt to offer a gritty, detailed account of the planning of the heist and its
disastrous execution fails as it includes long stretches of rather dull planning sessions. This was one of five minor film appearances for McQueen before he hit the big-time the following year in THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN.
