Sidney Gilliat directed Martyn Green, Maurice Evans, Robert Morley, and others in a celebration of the lives and music of the famed Victorian duo. Morley stars as the caustic writer-lyricist W.S. Gilbert and Maurice Evans is Arthur Sullivan, the composer of the music for their comic
operettas. Finch is Richard D'Oyly Carte, the impresario who brought them together. The highly enjoyable music is sung by members of the famed D'Oyly Carte company, including Martyn Green, one of the premier Gilbert and Sullivan tenors. It's great fun, though not as memorable as one might hope.
