This charming romantic comedy stars Margaret Sullavan as a young woman just released from an asylum, whose innocence attracts the amorous advances of millionaire Frank Morgan. To escape, she tells him she's married, and, when forced to produce a husband, she uses the first name she comes
across in the phone book. The unwitting victim is a lawyer, Herbert Marshall. Morgan offers him a contract that will make him rich in the hope of impressing Sullavan and wooing her away from her "husband." Meanwhile, Marshall and Sullavan fall in love. When the truth comes out, Morgan softens,
allows them to marry, and continues as their benefactor. Morgan steals the show as the millionaire, and the rest of the cast performs with vigor. The film was remade in 1947 as I'LL BE YOURS with Deanna Durbin.
