Blyth is the princess of a city threatened by Mongol Miller. Farrar and his band of English crusaders offer their help, but Blyth prefers to make a stand on her own. She concocts a plan that pits Brandon, Miller's son, against a rival and thus saves the city with her cunning. Lots of
soldiers and swords, along with catapults, horses, and other implements of destruction circa 1220, are used in the process. The action is fast and furious, and there is good use of color in the battle scenes.
